Choose a Google Forms alternative for public file uploads
A plain Google Form can accept public answers without sign-in when its settings allow it. The more specific problem is a customer who needs to attach a file: Google documents sign-in for file-upload questions. Changing the surrounding website or sharing a QR code does not remove that requirement.
For a client intake, try a Youform with contact details, a project description, and a file-upload question. Free supports uploads up to 10MB per file and unlimited responses under fair use. Test the public link while signed out of your own account, then check how the answer reaches your team.
Use the Google Sheets integration guide to assess your reporting workflow. For branding, compare a redirect, an embedded page, and a form on your own domain; Youform custom domains require Pro.

Compare the experience of answering
Google Forms offers a familiar questionnaire layout and can use sections to split a longer form into pages. Youform offers a conversational flow and more control over the respondent-facing appearance.
Try the form on a phone as well as a desktop. Consider the length of each question, the space for answer choices, the amount of context a respondent needs, and the clarity of the final action. A shorter form is not automatically better if it leaves people unsure what to do.
Branding and custom domains without confusing the options
Youform lets you choose colors and fonts on Free. Adding a logo, uploading fonts, removing Youform branding, and publishing on a custom domain require Pro.
For Google Forms, a branded redirect or a website page containing an embed is different from hosting the form itself on a custom domain. A Google Workspace subscription does not add a native custom-domain setting to an individual Google Form.
Read the custom-address guide to compare redirects, embeds, and publishing directly on your domain.
Questions, outcomes, uploads, and what happens next
- Logic: Google Forms can route from multiple-choice or dropdown answers to sections. Youform provides conditional logic and calculations for more involved question flows.
- Quizzes: use scored questions or personalized outcomes according to what the participant should learn.
- Uploads: Google Forms file uploads require Google sign-in. Youform accepts respondent files without requiring a Google account; file limits depend on the plan.
- Continuing later: distinguish saving progress from capturing partial responses for the form owner. Youform partial submissions require Pro.
- Ending screens: plan the confirmation, next-step link, or redirect. Multiple ending screens, their titles, descriptions, and embeds are included on Free. Customizing the ending button text or link and redirecting to another URL require Pro. See the ending-screen options.
